Getting Ready

Before you publish, there are a number of aspects for you to consider, to bring your product to a professional finish – particularly, if you are intending on uploading it to platforms such as Amazon:

Editing and proofreading of your writing. There’s nothing more that strips a publication of credibility, both for you as a writer, but also your book title, than having poor grammar and spelling mistakes! You have a choice as to edit it to a US-English or a UK-English in this process.

Removing unwanted code from your Word document. Your file will not ‘convert’ adequately, if you do not strip or align codes and styles within your original document. This will mean having to do it all again and end up costing you more money.

Preparation of a professional cover image in line with size, format and required pixels to adhere to your original converted file. Ideally, you want your readers to see your cover as well! Don’t forget, a cover can often be perceived as the ‘entre’ to the book and it is important to get this aspect right.

Delivery of the final product to you, or upload on your behalf to the platform you require.

We only provide a full-service conversion offering. That is, we take your project and manage the whole process. There are literally too many things that can go wrong, and cutting corners in this regard and thinking you will save time and money, will actually end up costing you more money.

We require 50% of payment for editing and formatting and this allows for 1 draft review by yourself. Once approved by you, we require pre-payment for file conversion of balance owing. We accept PayPal, Mastercard, Visa, EFT or business cheque (Australia).

An Important Note…

As professional editors, we highly recommend that you accept our proposed changes/edits/grammatical suggestions and comments. Occasionally, we do have clients who will tend to pass the marked-up suggestions to their partners or friends who are not qualified as editors for their input and this is something we suggest you do BEFORE it gets to us to edit. Let’s face it, if you’re paying for a professional, why wouldn’t you take on board their suggestions?

Think About This

From experience, we find that some writers think that ‘just because it is an eBook’ that it somehow has some diminished need for professionalism in presentation and many will simply ‘slam’ together a Word document and really, that’s fine, if that is where you want to position you and your brand.

There is no less effort in editing, proofreading or preparing formatting for a professional online soft-copy book (eBook) than should realistically go into a full-bound printed hard copy book — not if you are taking yourself seriously.
